HOLA, I AM FIA!
I LOVE movement. Inside AND Outside.
That's why I have dedicated my life to movement.
I want to create a place where people love to move and come together to get to know themselves better. A place to reconnect with yourself - with your body, mind AND soul.
I have spent most of my young adult life traveling.
Traveling to magical, remote places from the Amazon to the Himalayas.
But also journeys into the depths of my own being.
I meditated in the Himalayas, drank sacred brews in the Amazon, participated in life-changing toad medicine rituals in the desert and practiced yoga in some of the most beautiful places on this precious planet.
For several years, I didn't know how to share my knowledge, wisdom and personal qualities with others, and I was caught between knowing and not knowing.
After starting almost every possible course at university and also getting a degree in Political Science, I finally found a subject that really interested me wholeheartedly - "Languages and Cultures of South Asia and Tibet", which I eventually graduaded in Sanskrit, Nepali, Tibetan and Indian Philosophy.
When I realized that the diplomatic profession could not offer me a satisfying future, I started working as a language trainer - a profession that over the years gave me valuable teaching skills and touched my heart on many levels, but never really satisfied my spiritual being.
HOW DID I GET THERE?
Although I was very talented in many things, especially in learning new languages, I honestly struggled with my path. I was torn between my intellect and my heart.
Out of this inner struggle, I decided to finally take control of my life - to be honest, I was just terrified of waking up at 40 and being stuck in the wrong life!
The insight to dedicate my life to movement came from a long trip to the Mexican desert Sonora, where the experience with the desert toad, bufo alvarius, brought me to the core of my being and I realised that the only constant in my life has always been MOVEMENT.
The one thing that has always been my anchor and the thing that always made me shine!
Bufo and yoga have changed my life forever and it is thanks to this story that I am now living the self-determined life I have always dreamed of!
MOVEMENT MEANS THE WORLD TO ME
I am a full-time yoga teacher since several years having completed many hundred hours of Yoga Teacher Trainings including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Aerial Yoga, elements of Synergy Yoga. However, first and foremost I am inspired from Budokon Yoga.
Movement of body and mind literally saved my life and I am here to take you on the journey to the center of your being - your heart. Through Movement.
In my twenties, 15 years ago, I started to fall in love not only with Yoga but also with martial arts - especially with the Brazilian art of Capoeira.
A rhythmic Brazilian fight-dance game with acrobatics and a lot of mobility.
Capoeira is an expression of freedom and in this sense each capoeirista is given a name that expresses his/her personal character.
Mine is Fia Sonora - "The daughter of the desert".
I've been a capoeirista for over a decade and to be honest, I thought there was no better way to move in a way that made you strong, flexible and very agile at the same time - that was until I found Budokon, which I consider to be the evolution of holistic movement.
Specifically designed to fuse the world of martial arts with yoga and functional movement, it supports the training of the Bellator World Champion Lovato Jr. fight team, among others.
A Budokon Mixed Movement Artist is a true Warrior Yogi - studying MMA, grappling, jiu jitsu in the Six Blades tradition, yoga, calisthenics, strength training and animal locomotion, we challenge outdated movement patterns and bad habits.
Budokon is not just movement, but a way of life with the six pillars of movement, nutrition, emotions, thoughts, relationships and environment.
IS A WAY OF LIFE.
Yoga and Martial Arts are both ways of expressing inner and outer feelings through movement.
One goes more inward, the other more outward.
Both are important because the inner is reflected in the outer.
That's why I combine the experiences and insights from both systems in my Mixed Movement Yoga sessions to a holistic yoga style.
My classes are challenging, fun and grounding.
IS THE KEY.
